Bryan Lillis is our educational Consultant who has worked with the Directors of
Geo Ed, Kelvin Fox & Wayne Parkey, to bring their concept of Geo Ed – a Geology– based science incursion program to fruition.
Bryan is educator who had a successful 38 year career with the WA Education Department serving mainly in primary schools. Over a 24 year period he has served as Principal/Headmaster of Gnowangerup Agricultural School (founding Headmaster), Karragullen PS, Wyndham District High School, North Tom Price, North Lake, Newton and Mount Pleasant Primary Schools.
In 2000 the Mount Pleasant Primary School P & C Association acknowledged Bryan's principal-ship of the school by nominating him for the WA Principal of Year Award.
Bryan also spent some time as an acting Superintendent of Education, mainly in the Kimberley & Fremantle Education Districts including a term as Acting Regional Superintendent of the Kimberley Region. His key role was assisting beginning teachers to gain their permanency and mentoring recently appointed principals.
Geography, particularly Physical Geography, has always been a keen area of interest for Bryan. It was one of his dual majors in his Bachelor of Social Science degree, undertaken at Curtin University of Technology WA.
In the late sixties and early seventies Bryan was a member of Education Department's Social Studies Syllabus Design Committee. The resulting Syllabus was used in WA schools up until the early nineties and is still a valued resource for many of the states more senior teachers.
Bryan, over his career, was a keen member of the WA Primary Principals Association serving on various committees dealing with current education issues. He also served as WAPPA's Liaison Principal for the Cockburn and Melville Education Districts.
In his spare time Bryan hacks his way around Melville Glades Golf Course and other local golf courses. He enjoys his golf and is occasionally rewarded with a par or two.
He is Dockers Supporter who has been on the long road with them since they joined the AFL and usually flies over to Melbourne at least once a season to see them play.
BVL Educational Consulting is the consulting business that Bryan conducts in partnership with his wife Janice, who is also a teacher.
Janice & Bryan have three adult daughters and a son-in- law.
