WA is a large and diverse state and hosts a very large range of minerals, rocks and fossil resources.

 

Many of the states resources are locked away under mining company titles.

 

The combination of the locking- way of resources, the sheer size and diversity of the state, means that it is virtually impossible for any organisation to collect a comprehensive collection of the minerals, rocks and fossils of WA.

 

Consequently Geo-Ed is heavily reliant upon donations of specimens from companies and other individuals including professional geologists, prospectors and other interested amateurs.

Donations of specimens and other resources are very important to continue the growth of the diversity of the Geo-Ed teaching collection.
