Geo-Ed Pre and Post Visit Activities

Teachers can use Geo-Ed presentations as a component of a much larger theme of work that is being presented within their classrooms or as a stand-alone independent theme.

Irrespective of the chosen use of Geo-Ed within the overall teaching and learning model Geo-Ed wishes to provide pre-visit focus questions which will hopefully stimulate classroom discussion and provide background to the Geo-Ed in-school presentation.

Geo-Ed currently has a range of pre-visit activities that accompany its pre-prepared themes of work.  An example of a pre-visit activity can be seen below.

Geo-Ed would like to encourage teachers to assess our curriculum links to determine how Geo-Ed can tailor specific presentations to their specific classroom themes. Each tailored presentation will come with tailored pre-visit activities, which can be focussed on different curriculum learning areas at the discretion and needs of the teacher.

All classrooms that engage Geo-Ed will also be provided with post visit activities to extend the experience obtained from interaction with the Geo-Ed presenter and resources. As per the pre-visit activities the post visit activities will be tailored to the needs of the individual classroom teacher within the curriculum learning areas designated by the classroom teacher. Examples of post visit activities currently developed by Geo-Ed can be seen below.
